Claude Corps places early-career fellows inside nonprofits and public-interest organizations for a year, full-time and in-person. The first cohort starts in October 2026, and the program is built for organizations that can absorb a full-time embedded person.
Small businesses need the same kind of help: someone who knows Claude well, sitting close to the operation, scoping what to build, building it, and training an internal owner so the work keeps working after the engagement ends. The structural shape is different. Fractional instead of full-time. Paid instead of grant-funded. Starts this month instead of October. Built for an owner-operator without a CTO on staff.
What this looks like in practice.
A discovery conversation. 30 minutes on video. We talk through your operation and name where Claude actually saves your team time, money, or staff hours. The call itself is the work.
A two-week Scoping Engagement. Week 1 is a 60-minute scoping interview followed by my work behind the scenes (workflow mapping, tool research, an honest tool-by-tool fit assessment). Week 2 is the writeup and the readout call. You walk out with a 10 to 15 page written plan and three projects priced and timelined.
A Build Engagement. Three to six months. I sit with your team, install the systems, train your internal owner, and document the runbook for each pipeline. The work keeps working after I leave.
An ongoing Monthly Partnership. New pipelines added as the operation shifts. Old ones retired when they stop earning their slot. Cost monitored across every AI tool deployed.

The shape of operation where this works best: an owner-operated business with multiple departments, a team that has been doing the same repetitive work for long enough that nobody questions it anymore, and no CTO, head of data, or AI owner on staff. Audience. Claude Corps is for nonprofits, government agencies, and public-interest organizations. This practice is for privately-held small businesses.
Structure. Claude Corps fellows work full-time, in-person, for a year. I work fractionally, on a schedule shaped around your operation. Remote, with quarterly site visits if Portland is not close.
Timing. Claude Corps starts in October 2026 for the first cohort. The Scoping Engagement starts the week you book it. The first build typically ships in eight to twelve weeks.
Funding. Claude Corps is funded by Anthropic and CodePath. This work is paid. The first build typically returns its cost in staff hours saved within the quarter it ships.
Experience level. Claude Corps fellows are early-career. I have been running operations across industries for 15 years before AI was a tool any of us could buy. The AI is new. The operational pattern recognition is not.

Scoping Engagement. $5,000 fixed. Two weeks. 60-minute interview, workflow mapping behind the scenes, a 10 to 15 page written plan with three projects priced and timelined, plus the readout call. The on-ramp to every other engagement.
Build Engagement. $30,000 to $100,000 depending on scope. Three to six months. Owner trained, runbooks documented, each pipeline ready to be run by your team without me.
Monthly Partnership. $5,000 to $8,000 per month after the build ships. Three-month minimum. Ongoing AI partner once the systems are running.
